PUMP EXPRESS OFFERS BACK-UP SOLUTIONS FOR HURRICANE SEASON 2012
Before Hurricane Irene hit the Northeast on August 28 of last year, experts warned that it would be a major storm, but the course it took was one few could have predicted. Mandatory evacuations and other precautionary measures were enacted in coastal areas along the Eastern Seaboard but it was upland areas of New York State and Vermont, and low-lying parts of New Jersey, that got hit hardest, resulting in more than $7.8 billion in damages and vividly demonstrating the unpredictability of extreme weather.
At the start of hurricane season this year (June 1st), national hurricane experts at Colorado State University predicted 13 major storms, 5 hurricanes, and 2 major hurricanes in the Atlantic basin, with a 48% chance of a major hurricane hitting the U.S. coast before the season ends in late November. At Pump Express we are keenly aware of the damage storm related flooding can do (see above). Here is our shortlist of best practices to protect your home and business from flooding: Read More …
PUMP EXPRESS SELLS QUALITY PUMPS THAT ARE MADE IN THE USA
When the U.S. economy began to falter and the unemployment rate started edging up into the double-digits, increasing numbers of Americans started taking stock of the commonly used goods that were no longer manufactured in the U.S. and were made overseas instead. In reaction, some compiled lists of companies that manufacture domestically. Others extended American-made home challenges to builders and contractors. At Pump Express we have always promoted American goods because, in addition to being engineered for efficiency and built from the finest materials, U.S.-manufactured pumps are quick and inexpensive to ship domestically, and replacement parts are never a problem. This brief list of American-made pumps highlights some other great qualities the U.S.-made pumps we stock and sell have to offer.

PUMP EXPRESS JOINS PLUMBING-HEATING-COOLING CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION
Pump Express recently joined the ranks of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC), a nationwide federation of plumbing and HVAC contractors dedicated to maintaining high industry standards, advocating best practices and promoting emerging technologies. Founded in 1883, PHCC is the oldest trade organization in the construction industry, but it is PHCC’s focus on the future of the industry that makes Pump Express a natural fit.
“Until recently, a contractor or maintenance manager looking to replace a failed Armstrong pump basically had two options,” says Pump Express Sales Manager Fred Hettinger. “He could go to a generic supply house and deal with a counterman who had little or no experience with the application the pump would be used in, or he could select and size an Armstrong pump to the best of his ability, order it from his local supply house and hope for the best.”
Both methods lacked the precision and expertise necessary to effectively configure a pump for a hydronic system. The result was often wasted time and resources. Pump Express was developed to fill the gap between manufacturer and product with a team of pump specialists to expertly guide customers through the process of selecting the best possible pump to suit their needs. The result — a perfectly-sized, problem-free pump that will minimize energy waste.
In addition to Pump Express’s illustrated catalog of pumps and parts supported by manuals and performance charts, and the one-on-one sizing expertise provided by Pump Express application engineers, PHCC members will benefit from promotional PHCC-member discounts and access to Pump Express’s warranty repair facility.
